160th Soar Mos List - Performing special duties not only improves performance, but also provides personal satisfaction while serving in the Army. The PDF below describes some of the Special Duty positions available to Soldiers.

**Special assignments include special commands and liaison, HQDA, and HRC positions that have specialized missions and require specialized personnel. The soldiers assigned to these positions will be stable for 36 months. However, the HRC may appoint Soldiers for less than 36 months in accordance with paragraph 3-8a(10). This section establishes rules for appointments to the following offices:

International and OCONUS Headquarters, U.S. military mission, military assistance advisory group, United U.S. military advisory group, and similar activities.

Special Duty Assignments

The U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, U.S. Army War College, and U.S. Military Officer Commanding School.

**All personnel actions related to elective positions are processed by the HRC (AHRC–EPD). The normal cycle of duty for these positions is 3 to 4 years, unless otherwise specified by each office. Soldiers assigned to these offices to be replaced are requested by the appropriate office approximately 9 to 12 months prior to the scheduled date of replacement. There is a rigorous screening process to ensure that only the most qualified Soldiers are selected for specific positions in the following offices:

**Special Operations Forces (SOF) assignments require soldiers to excel in the performance of their duties in the most complex and dynamic environments on the spectrum of modern warfare and peacekeeping missions. The nature of SOF missions requires a high level of readiness, therefore, soldiers will be assigned on a priority basis. There is a rigorous screening process to ensure that only the highest caliber soldiers are accepted and assigned. Soldiers who wish to apply for duties or assignments may do so regardless of current assignment. Only fully qualified soldiers are accepted for duty in the following positions:
