All My Children Daycare - All My Children Daycare & Nursery Schools recently announced their 2019 summer program, which will run from July 1 to August 31, 2019 for their fifteen New York City daycares. The All My Children family looks forward to a successful summer season where children learn, play and grow while being lovingly cared for throughout the day.

While some centers, such as the Lower East Side, accept infants from three months to preschool age of five, others, such as the Upper West Side, accept children from two to six years old. A list of available seats is available on their website for your convenience.

Summer program hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with optional aftercare until 6:00 p.m.

Experienced, skilled and professional teachers and principals will oversee the summer program and provide excellent care for the children they teach. Summer facilities include a range of on-site sports as well as a fully equipped outdoor playground. A stimulating athletics program includes aquatics and yoga, while music, arts and crafts provide opportunities for creativity. The Upper West Side location will feature soccer, robotics and off-campus thrill rides, as well as music, yoga and water games. Throughout the summer, children will enjoy additional summer-themed activities, including curriculum tailored to the new season.

Our Education Coordinators have been busy this month training staff in the development of their Social and Emotional Curriculum. They collaborated and presented workshops focusing on positive behavior management and social and emotional learning. Teachers were presented with the latest research on positive reinforcement, videos on how to successfully implement behavior management, and activities and role plays that reinforced each tool. Teachers are excited to bring their new experiences into classrooms to create a positive and supportive emotional environment.

Decorating pumpkins is always fun in the fall. UWS children used their creativity to great effect. Halloween was also a hit!

We have experienced the joy of learning and playing chess. Our children have learned how all the pieces move on the board. We have just started playing the game in its entirety and are so impressed with the students' memory and skill level!

We start each session with a story related to our lesson, then do some exercises on the chess board and end the session with a full game. Each session ends with a brief summary of the day's lesson, with the last few minutes spent coloring an illustration of the piece we learned about that day. Soon we will start discussing the basic strategy - what Chess at Three calls "Secret Missions". This group is so exciting and I look forward to working with them next semester!

We have had a very exciting semester. Our little engineers are passionate about the program because we educate them from a scientific perspective. So far, students have learned about levers and their ability to move heavy objects. They were then introduced to basic electrical engineering using printed circuit boards that contained both AC and DC voltages. In a series of lessons, our little engineers experimented with gears and kinetic energy transfer and built vehicles. The transport module, one of their favorites, was a lesson in aerodynamics and the nature of flight. The program is certainly off to a good start!
